Citizens from outside the European Union
If you are a citizen of a non-EU country and wish to live and work in Italy, you need to follow some specific procedures before and after arrival.
- Nulla osta and entry visa: Required by the Sportello Unico per l'Immigrazione. After obtaining the clearance, apply for a visa at the Italian Embassy or Consulate in the country of origin.
- Residence Permit: Must be applied for within 8 working days of arrival in Italy, at the Parma Police Headquarters (Immigration Office).
- Tax Code and Registry Registration: To be obtained from the Internal Revenue Service. If you intend to reside permanently in Parma, registration with the Municipal Registry Office is also required.
